When I moved to Canada, I fell in love with the natural beauty of the Canadian landscapes which had a profound impact on my artistic expression. Viewing  and exploring the works of Tom Thomson provoked my interest on painting landscapes  and as I began to develop my craft, I found that my true passion lay in abstract impressionism. I was drawn to the freedom and expressiveness of the style, as well as its ability to convey emotion through the use of color, texture, and composition.

My work often features the pine trees against mountains and vivid skies that are so characteristic of the Canadian wilderness. I strive to capture the essence of these natural elements in my paintings, using loose brush strokes and a limited palette to create an impressionistic interpretation of the landscape . I want the observer to appreciate the texture and directions of each stroke , hence the impasto technique , to stand out of the canvas and to add a tactile quality to my work that draws the viewer in and encourages them to explore the painting through its texture , colours and the effect of the detail than the detail itself. 

For me, art is a way of connecting with the world around me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my perspective with others through my paintings.
