Artist Statement
Painting is my primary means of expressing inner thoughts and emotions. Working with acrylic and oil on canvas, I translate ideas into a visual language that seeks to evoke a sense of joy—an essential element I strive to cultivate and share through my practice.
Artist Bio
Nisreen Al-Hindawi is a visual artist whose practice is rooted in painting and shaped by both academic training and extensive professional experience. She holds a Diploma in Fine Arts (Painting) from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad (1972–1978), and worked as an art teacher in Iraq from 1978 to 1995, contributing to arts education during that period.
Based in Canada, Al-Hindawi is an active member of the Milton Arts Association and the Mesopotamia Arts Association. Her work has been presented in numerous group exhibitions across Canada, Jordan, and Iraq, including venues in Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, Amman, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah between 2009 and 2024. In addition to her exhibition record, she has completed permanent public artworks, notably three murals at the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan (2019).
Her artworks are held in private collections internationally, spanning the Middle East, North America, and Europe, reflecting the broad geographical reach of her artistic practice.
